When it comes to genetic testing, working with DNA Direct is a reliable and efficient solution to maximize patient care. We know that you are busy. Finding time to discuss complex genetics information in the context of your patients’ personal and family medical histories can be difficult. That is why genetics is all we do.
- As a Web- and phone-based service, we help physicians and patients across the United States.
- Our board-certified genetics professionals provide patient education and support for your patients – before and after testing.
- Our CLIA -certified labs provide quick, convenient testing. At the same time, your patients remain entirely under your care.
- As the referring physician, you can expect to receive your patients’ test results and interpretation within 24 hours from the completion of testing. You can also expect to an educated patient.
Referring a patient to DNA Direct is easy. Just download our referral form, complete it and fax to our Clinical Services department at 806-993-6708.
How It Works
- Print and complete the DNA Direct Referral Form and Patient Instructions. Fax the completed for to 806-993-6708, Attention: Clinical Services. (Make sure you and your patient sign the form and check the appropriate box to represent medical records release authorization.)
- A DNA Direct genetic counselor will contact your patient to arrange a pre-test consultation and coordinate testing. A sample collection kit and informed consent will be sent directly to your patient.
- When testing is complete, DNA Direct will send you the test results and a Physician Letter, complete with test results interpretation, current medical guidelines, and scientific references. A DNA Direct genetic counselor will also notify your patient that when the Personalized Report is available.
