How Ancestry DNA Testing Works

You can collect DNA samples for genealogy tests in the privacy of your own home. At DNA Direct, we connect you with the best ancestry tests currently available from the most reliable companies providing them.

From DNA Direct's website, you can purchase a home testing kit from our preferred providers. By choosing a Lineage Test, you will be directed to Ancestry.com to place your order. Admixture testing can be ordered directly on DNA Direct’s website, who provides the shipping information on your behalf to DNA Print. Regardless of which test you choose, Ancestry.com or DNA Print will send to your home a DNA ancestry testing kit that includes:

  • DNA cheek swabs or scrapers for collecting cheek cells
  • Complete instructions
  • Informed consent form
  • Return mailer envelope

You will return the kit directly to Ancestry.com or DNA Print, and they will return your ancestry results directly to you.

Choose the right test for ancestry & ethnicity using our FIND tool.
