Cystic Fibrosis

As many as 1 in 25 people in the United States carries a genetic mutation for cystic fibrosis (CF), an inherited disease that affects the lungs, digestive system, sweat glands, and male fertility.

Genetic testing for CF can help you:

  • determine whether you are a carrier, and if so, understand your chances of passing the CF mutation on to a child
  • confirm an early diagnosis of CF, so that early treatment and preventive measures can be pursued
