April 24, 2008: The senate today passed GINA, the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act. DNA Direct believes this is an important day for our customers and all consumers, who can now be reassured that their genetic information is protected against misuse by any insurer or employer. This passing of this legislation acknowledges the important role genetics is now playing in personalized medicine. Congratulations to the Genetic Alliance and everyone who worked so hard to push this legislation forward, including Sharon Terry, President of the Genetic Alliance and board member of DNA Direct.
